2010 Schedule and Lectures



Andre Leirner graduated from the Univesity of Sao Paulo with a Bachelor of Architecture. He received a masters in Architecture and Urbanism from the Architectural Association School of Architecture and another Masters in Public Administration from Fundação Getúlio Vargas in Sao Paulo.  His professional work revolves around the areas of Urban Development, Public Politics, Architecture and Urbanism.

Carlos M. Teixeira graduated in architecture (1992, EA-UFMG) and has a Masters Degree in Housing and Urbanism (1994, distinction) at the Architectural Association of London. In 1999, he published the book Under construction: history of the void in BH (CosacNaify, 342p) and is a teacher (in sabbatical) at the School of Design at FUMEC (unit VII) and CAU-Unileste MG (studio VI). In 1998, Carlos founded the furniture design Casa Design Brasileiro (casadesignbrasileiro.com.br) with his former partner, Helena Rios, and founded Vazio S/A in 2002. From 2004 to 2006, he worked at the Brazilian branch of Architects without Borders – ASF-Br. He was a scholar of Brazilian Ministry of Culture’s Virtuose grant, and was awarded in several contests. His work was exhibited at Pace Gallery, and at Palácio das Artes (Belo Horizonte); Museu da Casa Brasileira (SP); IV Biennial of Architecture of São Paulo; Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo; Pavillion of l’Arsenal (Paris); IX Architecture International Biennial of Venice; and the Royal Institute of British Architects, London.

Igor Guatelli

Ole Bouman has been director of the Netherlands Architecture Institute (NAI) since April 2007. Before taking up that position he was editor-in-chief of the periodical Volume, a cooperative venture of Stichting Archis, AMO (the research bureau of OMA/Rem Koolhaas) and the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation of Columbia University. He has curated a series of public events for the reconstruction of the public domain in cities that have been hit by disasters, such as Ramallah, Mexico City, Beirut and Prishtina. Bouman has been lecturing Design at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the United States.
